Home safe and sound! We got home this past Saturday night from our two-week vacation. Brian and I drove many many miles, over 4,700. I made arrangements to get my little Holly Noel right away. As soon as we pulled in the driveway, I got in our other car and drove the hour round trip to the veterinarian's office where she's been boarded to pick her up. She was pampered quite a bit during our absence; she was played with, had a couple ledges to jump onto, and a huge window to look out of to enjoy the outdoors. She had her cat bed and some of her toys so it would smell more of home. She's been giving me lots of kitty hugs and kisses since I've been home, but she seems a little bit lost! I'm tired and don't want to get in the car much in the near future! I've been resting quite a bit, and Holly has been sticking to my side like glue. I really think that she missed me!
I can't believe that Halloween is in a couple of weeks! When we got home from vacation, it looked as though the world had changed. My garden is dying back, the yard is covered with leaves and pine needles, and we missed the fall color; but we truly enjoyed the beauty and charm of New England, even though we did have quite a few cloudy days. We have a road trip to Sunset Hills, Missouri this Saturday for grandson Zach's 5th birthday. It's a pirate theme. Can't believe the little rascal is 5 already. He was 2 years old when I was introduced to him. I'm not ready to be on the road after vacation, but he's worth it.
