What is it about water that draws us to it? Remember the soothing sound of the surf, the crash of waves against a rocky shore, the constant roar of a whitewater river or of a waterfall, or even the arrythmic patter of rainfall on a roof. Then there's the sight of water: whitecaps on a blustery day, tranquil hues of blue, murky rivers, black ponds, water so smooth it looks to be of glass, clear mountain streams. Ripples, waves, the motion of water, its odor, and the variety of life it attracts. I am truly mesmerized by water...the beauty and its tranquility. When I'm in a despondent or reflective mood, I must be near water. For me, water is healing and I am at peace.
