"Books are the perfect entertainment: no commercials, no batteries, hours of enjoyment for every dollar spent. What I wonder is why everybody doesn't carry a book around for those inevitable dead spots in life."~~~Stephen King

Ramblings of a typical morning

My "alarm clock" went off a little early this morning...4 a.m...well I laid there until 5. I decided I'd better get up and "feed the alarm clock"! I was still awake and feeling pretty good, so I logged onto Facebook to see what was going on. Not much, so I thought this would be a good time to look through my Christmas photos. I tagged some of them for the kids and the rest of the family.

My sweet husband has 4 hours of vacation time left for the year, so the "plan" is for him to leave work at 11. I hope he's able to get off work on time. If he doesn't use it, he'll lose it. He also has tomorrow off and then works Sunday. He wants to work some more on the remodeling project in the kitchen and dining area tomorrow.

It's hard for me to believe that it's raining on December 30th instead of snowing. I remember years past when I was snowed-in this time of year. Not able to go anywhere! I lived on the farm during a couple of those bad winters, and it was quite a chore to get to the livestock to feed them. I also learned quickly to have the pantry well-stocked! I don't want to be snowed-in like that again, but I'd like to have some snow! All we've had so far is just a dusting.
