Joys of a summer morning

ðŸŒº Brian and I enjoyed a lovely morning on the patio. I drank my coffee while we watched the numerous pollinators flitting around on the flowers and listened to the birds singing, the bees buzzing and the cicadas humming. Our back yard is on the north side of the house and the cool breeze was from that direction. It was so refreshing and rejuvenating!

🌺 The shadows are lengthening on the patio and I asked Brian to move the one pot of lantana so it’d get more sun. All of our flowers are full of abundant color and flourishing! I wish time would slow down a bit to be able to enjoy the summer blooms longer. Before you know it the season will start to change and our favorite time of year will be here. The trees will be adorned with hints of the colors of orange, red and yellow; and the chrysanthemums, anemones, asters, goldenrod, fireweed, obedient plants and many others will start to bloom. But I’m not quite ready for fall yet.

🌺 Yesterday we noticed Charlie and Ethel, our resident wrens, had vacated the birdhouse, along with their babies. My last writing mentioned that we knew it would be soon because of the babies increased demand for more food and feedings. Charlie and Ethel worked nonstop feeding their brood. I told Brian that I imagine after the pair finished raising the fledglings they’ll take a much needed vacation to rest!
