• I used to know a woman who was a part of my life for many years. During the time I knew her I don’t recall her ever being sick or going to the doctor. She never had a cavity and would flash the prettiest bright smile. She was never on any special diet and never exercised. She made the absolute best homemade pies using lard in the crust. I fondly remember one luscious pie in particular which was her concord grape and pear pie—I salivate just thinking of it. She was a wonderful cook, made everything from scratch, and fried the best catfish I had ever eaten.
• I visited her one time in her later years. We visited some and I was my usual curious self and asked her if she had ever experienced any pain. She grimaced and rubbed her right elbow and said it had been hurting some. I cannot imagine! She lived well into her 90’s.
• To my knowledge she never accepted Jesus as her Savior. I had shared my faith with her, but it fell upon deaf ears and she rejected Jesus as her Savior and being the Only Way to Heaven. She didn’t want to hear one word about Jesus. She was happy going about and doing her good deeds, pleasing and serving people, and she never missed a service at the old church in town—all of which she believed was how a person got into Heaven. She regularly attended her Eastern Star meetings, which is an affiliation with the Masons. She invited me to go with her so many times but I always kindly declined.
• Mark 8:36~~”For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?”
• My life has been full of excruciating pain and I have endured every kind of abuse. But you know what? I would rather have lived with my pain than to die without knowing Jesus as my personal Savior. It’s so devastating to think that this woman is suffering in hell for all of eternity—that’s forever and ever without the presence of God. Perhaps I planted a seed and at some point before she died, she asked Jesus to be her Savior—I hope so. That’s my sincere hope for everyone.
• Romans 10:9-10~~”that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
• Have you accepted Jesus as your Savior? I hope you do as time is short. He loves you so very much and it’s His desire that EVERYONE should come to Him. Believe Jesus died for your sins and rose from the grave; repent and follow Him.
• 1 Timothy 2:1-4~~”Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires ALL men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
• For those who rejected the Lord Jesus Christ, we read in John 8:24, “I said therefore unto you, that you shall die in your sins: for if you believe not that I am He, you shall die in your sins.”
