HOLLY’S CAT LETTER
EPISODE 21–03/17/2024
🐱 Hi to all my admirers. Grab your winter coats if you venture out today. It’s windy and cold and Ma is staying inside. Besides giving me cuddles and kisses, her main goal is to take a shower, attempt to shave her long overdue bristly legs, and have Pa wash her hair. That will be quite an undertaking! All that maintenance is for the birds. I’m so glad God created me and other felines to be self-cleaning.
🐱 Late afternoon yesterday Pa made his world-famous vegetable soup. Only this time instead of ground beef, he used vile ground turkey. To be straight to the shoulder, Ma isn’t a fan of his soup, and is also skeptical about the turkey. But knowing her like I do, I’m sure she’ll at least taste it. After the soup was done, Pa ate a small bowl and Ma heard him in the kitchen sounding like he was hacking up a hairball. Ma sat there and giggled and knew he was goofing around, but she made sure he was ok. Ma later tasted the soup and she couldn’t tell much of a difference in taste. Pa is going to make chili with the ground turkey next time.
🐱 It’s been a slow day of patrolling my domain. I patrolled the north side and Oliver astonishingly did his part and patrolled the south. It must be a lazy Sunday for all the vile beasts. Oliver and I eventually gave up and laid down in our cat beds. He tried to pick a cat fight with me but I gave him one of my stern looks and he backed off. We eventually wore down so we took a long catnap in a warm sunbeam.
🐱 Ma doesn’t understand how other cat parents capture their cats in the process of having the zoomies. When Oliver gets in his raucous moods she grabs the phone to get a video. No luck. The only way I see it is that these humans must walk around with their phones attached to their hands, always poised and ready at a moment’s notice. And they miraculously have the perfect lighting. I’m sure Ma will keep trying.
🐱 Just like Oliver, I had some wild spurts today and as usual Ma missed recording them. I galloped all over the kitchen, jumped into the sink and ran across the counter and landed in one of my chairs. Ma and Pa were at the island chuckling at me. I just know they were talking about how cute I am.
🐱 Pa is going to watch basketball this afternoon. Ma isn’t too thrilled but she knows he enjoys the Big 10 Championship. I heard her say she might take a nap so that means more cuddles and kisses for me. Have a nice evening and enjoy a chunk or two of spiced apple cake and a cold glass of milk. More about me later…love, Holly
