"Books are the perfect entertainment: no commercials, no batteries, hours of enjoyment for every dollar spent. What I wonder is why everybody doesn't carry a book around for those inevitable dead spots in life."~~~Stephen King

Adding some sweetness to your day

What's better than sandwiching in a little bit of sweetness in the middle of your day? I had a doctor's appointment at 11:45 and a chiropractor appointment at 4:15. So...I thought instead of taking a nap inbetween appointments, I'll just stop at Eli's Coffee Shop here in town and have a cup of decaf and a little pastry. I decided on something "pumpkiny", and a pumpkin cream cheese whoopie pie did the trick. It was sort of like a good-sized moist pumpkin cupcake, horizontally cut in half, with a layer of thick cream cheese frosting in the middle. Yummy! That's enough sugar for me for a long time...that's my plan!

Actually, it's been a good day. I always try to have a good day, If it is a bad day, I just try to have a good attitude about it! The SON is always shining, even on a cloudy day! I bumped into my great-niece Michelle at the Hallmark store when I was out and about buying a card for my friend Judy. I was surprised to see her since she lives about a half an hour south of me. I had seen Judy in an antique store a couple weeks ago and she asked me if I would like to have some of her old Country Living magazines...well yeah! So she called me yesterday and invited me over to her home to get them. I was also honored to be given a tour of her wonderful home. It's all furnished with primitive furniture, no reproductions. I was like a little kid in a candy store, oohing and ahhhing! She also told me about a couple of prim shows coming up in November. My sweet husband is going to request that Saturday off at work so he can go with me. Sounds like a couple of good shows! I also had to run by my family doctor to give them some insurance information. When I pulled up in the parking lot I saw my sister-in-law Robyn's car parked there. So we had a chance to visit a bit before she was called into the office for her appointment. My big plan tonight is to watch an old classic movie that I have recorded on the DVR. Brian is hosting his guy's Bible Study tonight, so they'll be hanging out in the basement.
