I think of you often
And I wish that you were here...
To talk and laugh like we used to,
Knowing you were always near.
I wish we could have fulfilled our dreams.
The dreams that were shared so many years ago.
I wish that you were here...
Perhaps life would not have been so troubled.
There are tiimes that I forget...
Thinking that I saw you on the street.
And then suddenly...
Suddenly I realize it cannot be.
You were so young the night you left...
Too young to know what you really wanted.
You had a zest for life,
Making people around you happy.
Yet people could never understand
You the way that I did.
We were a lot alike...
You and me.
While others simply took things in stride,
We pondered...
And wondered why it had to be.
We had dreams of growing old
And living in the same small town.
Talking and laughing like we used to...
In our younger days.
I think of you often.
I miss you.
My dear best friend.
