Thanksgiving Day has once again come and gone. I am so thankful the weather was nice for safe travel. I remember years past being snowed in and not being able to drive even one mile! My husband Brian and I spent the early afternoon hours with part of my family enjoying good food, laughter and conversation. As I had mentioned in an earlier post, it was hosted by my great-niece Michelle and her husband, Brian, and their boys. The gathering was mainly my oldest sister Judy's children, grandchildren and Michelle's husband Brian's family. My great-niece Amanda, her husband Nate and their new baby Brody were back from Gulf Breeze, Florida. He's a sweet little boy! Sad to say, but I didn't even get the chance to hold him! He was kept busy being passed from one person's arms to another! He had to be worn completely out! They had to leave fairly early to go to Nate's side of the family. I remember when I used to live out of state and it was always rush rush rush, visiting one relative to another, and never being able to stay at one place for very long. We had to say our good-byes and I felt bad not visiting with some of my family that just arrived, or not being to see the ones that were going to arrive later. One day isn't enough time for everyone! I have a bad memory and a good heart, but I don't recall thanking Michelle and Brian for their warm hospitality and for inviting us to enjoy the holiday with them. I'll have to remember to send them a nice card!
The rest of the afternoon and early evening was spent with some of Brian's family at his brother Kevin's. My sister-in-law Pam had the house looking festive with scented candles burning throughout. It was so nice of them to invite us into their home to share Thanksgiving! The dining table was full of luscious desserts. Even though I wasn't hungry, I did have a couple of my sister-in-law Robyn's peanut butter blossom cookies, the ones with the Hershey's kiss in the middle. They're one of my favorites and I just can't resist them! Brian's three kids and all his grandchildren were able to make it back. His son Jeremiah (Jerm), Becky, Zach and Max live in Wildwood, Missouri; his daughter Becca and Mo live in St. Charles, Missouri; and his son Josh, Erin, Maggie, Kenzie and Mica live in Danville, Indiana. It was really good to see my father-in-law Perry, along with some uncles and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews! We enjoyed lots of laughter and played Balderdash most of the evening. This is one game that I had never played before, and it's a lot of fun! As usual, there's never enough time to get much of a chance to sit and visit with everyone. Before you know it, it's time to don our jackets and head for home, even though in some respects it seems like everyone just got there.
Brian and I left to go our nice warm home and Holly greeted us at the door as always. We got comfortable fairly quickly and enjoyed the rest of the evening lounging and watching a movie. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and remembered to count their many blessings!

Kathy - I love your blogging site! It is laid out so well, with wonderful pictures, and beautifully written blogs! (you definitely get an A++++ in my book!!) Did you take all the pictures that are posted here? You did an awesome job with this site; you should be very proud of yourself! I would love to do the same .. sometime... when I have a bit more free time (and I am not grading 27 other students' papers!! ha)
Looking forward to keeping up with you via your blog :)
