HOLLY’S CAT LETTER

EPISODE 10—03/03/2024

🐱 Hi to all my admirers. Boy is it a windy one today. It’s supposed to get up in the low 70’s the next two days which doesn’t mean diddly-squat to me. I’m safe and warm in Ma and Pa’s house and I have no desire to go out into the wild. I am very content being a house kitty. There’s just too many vile beasts out there to fight tooth and nail. I’m a lover, not a fighter.

🐱 Since it was such a lovely day yesterday, Ma and Pa took off to something somewhere called Evergreen Lake for a picnic. Though I always miss Ma, I don’t mind it too much if she’s away for a short while, just as long as she and Pa are back home by 5 p.m. for feeding time.

🐱 Speaking of eating: I continue to feel and look like 1/2 million bucks and am consistently eating pretty well. Ma keeps a close eye on me and If I start acting wonky, she gets the medicine bottle out of the fridge and administers my tasty cocktail for 3-4 days by means of a syringe. I remember a couple of the drugs are Prednisone for inflammation and Cerenia for nausea. I forget what the other two drugs are since I can’t read the label on the bottle. All I care about is this medicine has helped me.

🐱 Last night was a tough one for Ma—I saw her roaming the house at 3 a.m. She was tired yet wide awake. Since I was being such a sleepyhead and couldn’t be roused from my comfy spot on the afghan, I permitted her to patrol the house for intruders. Oh that luxurious afghan—I’m so glad Ma bought that last year at a thrift shop just for me. While I was comatose Ma finally stumbled back to bed. At least I hope she made it in there. My brother Oliver told me he was with Ma most of the night. He doesn’t cuddle up nearly as close to her as me, but he does give her occasional kisses on the hand and head bunts. He’s not always vile and can be quite sweet—when he wants to be. Oliver was telling me that Ma covered him up and laid her arm close beside him. She always enjoys being close to us and feeling us purring.

🐱 My big plans for this evening is getting kisses and a back rub. I hope you all enjoy your scrumptious snack of snickerdoodles with an ice cold glass of milk. More about me later…love, Holly
