HOLLY’S CAT LETTER

EPISODE 23–03/19/2024

🐱 Hi to all my admirers. Holy cats! It’s another windy one out there! I am so thankful that Oliver and I are safe and don’t have to worry about being blown away to the next continent. Ma will have to gird her loins when she ventures out to the dentist later!

🐱 I was on Ma’s lap earlier watching her eat this vile concoction from a small bowl. She has to eat it every morning and she makes all kinds of funny faces. Pa crushes some pills and puts them in applesauce for her. Ma used to love applesauce but can’t stand the stuff any more. She told me it’s something to help keep her regular, whatever that means.

🐱 My slacker brother Oliver patrolled the south side of my domain this morning. It’s about time he starts earning his keep! He was busy chattering away at something or other that was flying by the window. It was probably a scary leaf! He’s such a mighty hunter. I have to be the one that tackles the vile beasts!

🐱 Ma has been calling me “piggy, piggy, piggy” whenever I eat good which is happening more often these days. I don’t like being compared to a vile pig but I know she means well. She treasures me and when she’s loving on me, she takes pleasure in burying her fingers in my squishiness.

🐱 I have been listening to Ma reminisce about childhood TV programs she used to enjoy. A couple of the shows like “Lassie” and “Rin Tin Tin” had dogs starring in them so if I’d been around back then, I would have protected her.

🐱 Recently Ma watched a couple reruns of a program called “Leave it to Beaver”. For the second life of me I can’t comprehend the nature of that show. I sat there with Ma the entire time doing my duty of protecting her and I never did see any vile beavers. Humans are so weird—naming a show after a beaver that never existed.

🐱 Many moons ago Ma also used to watch a program called “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour” that was hosted by Dick and Tommy. Ma was telling me how one of the brothers, Tommy, was always accusing the mother of favoring the other brother Dick. I think Ma was trying to tell me that she absolutely loves Oliver, but loves me more as I am her favorite. I’m her heart kitty.

🐱 I wish you all an enjoyable day. Start thinking about what you’re going to eat for supper. Maybe some spaghetti with huge meatballs and chewy bread smothered in butter and garlic. Maybe chocolate mint ice cream for dessert? More about me later…love, Holly
