HOLLY’S CAT LETTER
EPISODE 24–03/20/2024
🐱 Hi to all my admirers. I am happy to report we are halfway through this vile week. Just two more days to make it through to a relaxing weekend, Lord willing.
🐱 Oliver has been maniacally running around the house and taking breaks to give Ma loving head bunts. I gave Ma one of my special kitty massages earlier. Now I’m busy patrolling the south part of my domain. So far I’ve seen no vile beasts, only Chuckles the red-bellied woodpecker and like the squirrels and bunnies, he’s always welcome.
🐱 Out of the blue, Ma started feeling puny last night. These diseases she has are extremely vile. Yesterday she felt “her normal” of fine and was all pumped up after her good dental appointment. Pa had to go to some store called Farm & Fleet and Ma wanted to go inside. Pa started to get the scooter ready but she wanted to try and walk—which she did though it was tough. Thankfully she found a few places to sit down.
🐱 While at the store Ma looked around at stuff. She has been wanting new tea towels and spied some pretty spring ones. I don’t know why she needs more because she has a drawer full! A sweet friend of hers in Massachusetts recently sent her a lovely gift package with two tea towels with cute bunnies on them, along with some other very nice things. Ma kept the pretty green ribbons the gifts were wrapped in to play with me and my brother.
🐱 While Ma was looking at tea towels with kitties on them she visited with this nice older man who was pricing things. The nice man was telling Ma and Pa how he and his wife have a cat now since their beloved dog passed last December, and that he never realized how affectionate and sweet we kitties are.
🐱 Ma is always talking to people—Pa loves that about her. The nice man was telling Ma how grumbly people are these days about high prices and that things are changing so fast. Ma told him “You know what doesn’t change?” And he replied “What?” And Ma said “Jesus. He’s the same yesterday, today and forever.” The nice man slowly looked down and scratched his head, and quietly said “Yeah.” Ma wants to go back to that store soon to find him and give him a Bible tract about salvation. She cares about people’s souls. Oliver and I are so proud of our Ma and we love her so very much.
🐱 Any way, whatever happened last night, hit her hard. Just weird. Pa had left for Bible Study and around 6:30 she dozed off sitting up, though it was unsettled. She went to bed at 8 p.m. and just laid there and didn’t move. Ma heard Pa get home around 10 and she drifted off to sleep. Oliver and I were with her all night long and protected her from harm. She told Pa this morning that she had felt she was chilling on the inside and like she was burning up with fever but yet she wasn’t. She’s had these awful “spells” before but not often. Today we’re going to give her extra doses of intense Purr Therapy.
🐱 Sorry this episode was so long but thanks for taking the time to read it! I am going to catnap in a sunbeam now so wishing you all a lovely day. Ma is resting in the recliner. Spring has officially sprung so hopefully the vile winter weather will go away for good. I’ve been giving the weather man tons of stern looks!! More about me later…love, Holly
