"Books are the perfect entertainment: no commercials, no batteries, hours of enjoyment for every dollar spent. What I wonder is why everybody doesn't carry a book around for those inevitable dead spots in life."~~~Stephen King

Go-cart days.....

My brother Steve made this go-cart from an old lawnmower motor. He and I had so much fun on this thing! I remember I was driving it (if you want to call it driving ha ha) one day and I ran right through one of Mom's flower beds! This is a photograph of me at 5 1/2 years old holding my precious cat Caramel. She was the prettiest marmalade cat. I loved her so much! In the background is my brother Jerry's old car. I forget what model of car it was, but I remember it was the prettiest shade of blue.
Here's another photo of me and my brother Steve. He was so thoughtful and made this little cart to pull me around in. We went all over the neighborhood! Oh what great memories! In the background you can see Mom's cannas and a rosebush on the trellis. Also the doghouse that belonged to Corky, my brother Jerry's blonde cocker spaniel.

Here I am again with Caramel posing for the camera. More flowers in the background. Mom and Dad always grew lots of flowers. Notice too the old venetian blinds in the window.

Another photograph of me cuddling with Caramel. I loved that old screen door that went into the kitchen!
