"Books are the perfect entertainment: no commercials, no batteries, hours of enjoyment for every dollar spent. What I wonder is why everybody doesn't carry a book around for those inevitable dead spots in life."~~~Stephen King

What a change...

If you have teenagers in your family, this cartoon image is almost always what you will see.  They just can't survive without their phones. You go to a restaurant and they're texting.....when not texting the phone is clutched in their hands or within reach at the table. Sometimes I even panic when I realize I left my phone at home. How did we ever get along without them? But you know.....every now and then I long for the good old days. If you needed to call someone, you just stopped at your local gas station or phone booth and used a pay phone. Do these phones even exist any more? I don't pay attention since I have no need to use one. The other option was that you just waited until you got home to check your answering machine. Just to let you know what era I was raised in: I was brought up before anwering machines even existed! Can you imagine that? Oh my, what a terrible inconvenience!
